Student Life Conference :: Disciple Now Weekend :: Amp'd Students Event
All wrapped up in 24 hours.

Our church hosted Student Life Friday night and Saturday.  Kristian Stanfill led worship and Francis Chan spoke.  The theme this year was LIVE LOVE.  We need to live the love of Christ everywhere we go, to everyone we meet.

:: Over 3,000 students worshiping at First Baptist Church Orlando ::

The Student Life theme {LIVE LOVE} and our student ministry theme {LOVE ORLANDO} came together this weekend in a big way.

One year ago, our students went on a mission trip to LA to work with the Dream Center.  One of the ministries they did while they were there was a ministry called Metro Kidz where they basically they went to different parks and neighborhoods and took church to the children in those communities.  Kind of like Vacation Bible School on wheels.

They loved it so much they wanted to start a ministry like that here. In Orlando.
They have given their dollars and their change for the last year with the dream of buying a box truck and starting a ministry like Metro Kidz here in Orlando.

The dream has become a reality.

In the last few months, a truck was bought, engine work was done, new brakes and tires were added, the side of the truck was cut out and a fold down stage was fabricated, body work and sanding were done, and the base coat completed.

Although the truck is not completely done, it is ready to hit the streets, which is exactly what it did on Saturday.

We went less than half a mile from the church to Hankins Park to tell people about Jesus and share His love with them in a practical way.

We had over 300 people show up for free food, games, and giveways.

We are so excited to see what God is doing in our community through our students.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that i have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
{Matthew 28:19-20}

  1. I found your blog today when I was randomly checking the FBI list and I noticed that you have quite a few families on your blog that I know including the Mills family who I am related to. I am curious what our connection might be. We live in Northwest Arkansas and adopted through Gladney a few months ago. It is such a small world and through our adoption it has been so neat to see different families that we are connected to.
