We received a phone call from Alex's school today.

In the middle of the day.
From the nurse.

That is NEVER good.

They never call in the middle of the day to tell you your kid is having a great day.  I'm just saying, that would be kind of nice.  Instead, it is usually something like, you need to come get Alex he is running a fever -or- you need to come pick up Alex he is throwing up -or- come quickly, Alex's head is bleeding and needs to go the hospital.

Well, that was our call this afternoon.
Apparently, Alex was running around at recess and when he ducked to run under the bridge, he didn't clear it and ran smack dab into a metal bar.  He was just doing what we taught him.  No, not to run into metal bars, but to run from girls.  Run, Alex, Run!  Girls are sweet, cute and expensive!  So run baby boy, run.  It's hard to save all your kisses until you get married when the girls try and steal them at recess.  In our house, girls are just friends, for now.

Anyway, back to Alex and his bleeding head.
Keith and I were both at the church when the school called so, as always, God's timing is perfect.  Keith ran across the street to the school and I drove around to pick them up.  We took Alex to the Emergency Room to have it looked at.  Don't worry, this is a family-friendly blog, I didn't post any pictures of his actual cut or the cool after picture with the 6 staples.  But here are a few pictures of our time in the ER.

Waiting to be called back
